Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, around 3:58 p.m. on March 25, 2024, deputies met with a mom who stated her son told her that Salazar walked up to him inside the bathroom where he allegedly touched the juvenile victim inappropriately. The mom told deputies that Salazar then insisted that the juvenile come to the “stem area,” according to the incident report. According to the report, the juvenile told Salazar that he had to leave and then reported the incident to staff, who escorted Salazar off the property. McDuffie County Sheriff’s office received at around 5:30 p.m. for shots being fired on the 400 block of Edgar Circle. Augusta University provided a statement when Salazar was arrested in 2024. “The Augusta University Police Department was notified by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office that a former faculty member has been arrested for an alleged incident that occurred at a location that is not affiliated with the university and which allegedly took place several months after his employment at the university ended. The university will cooperate with the Sheriff’s Office and other authorities involved in the matter as requested,” Augusta University said in a statement to News 1
