MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – From new tax-saving opportunities for farmers to major infrastructure projects and a strong film industry, Middle Georgia’s business landscape is experiencing significant growth and transformation. Georgia farmers have a limited-time opportunity to save money on sales tax. The 2026 Georgia Agricultural Tax Exemption (GATE) program is now accepting applications. Qualified agriculture producers can apply for new certificates or renew those that expired in 2025. Once approved, certificates will remain valid through the end of 2028, providing substantial sales tax savings on agricultural purchases and equipment. Oglethorpe Power recently announced the selection of Kiewit Corporation to construct the facility.
