2 brothers charged after large narcotics seizure in Phenix City

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) – Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor announced Monday that a major narcotics investigation led to multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs, cash, weapons and a vehicle. Taylor held a press conference at 11 a.m. ET at the sheriff’s office’s investigations building, detailing a joint operation between Russell County and Muscogee County authorities. According to investigators, the Russell County SWAT Team executed a search warrant Friday at a home located at 807 Pine Hill Court in Phenix City. Inside, deputies arrested two brothers: During the search, investigators seized 26 pounds of marijuana, $2,100 in cash, a stolen firearm registered in Columbus and a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu. Officials said they also recovered additional drug-related items in Columbus as part of the coordinated investigation. Sheriff Taylor emphasized the broader dangers connected to drug activity. “Just marijuana isn’t just marijuana,” Taylor said. “You see the weapons that have been seized over here and in Columbus.
