Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested six people on drug and weapons charges Tuesday during a coordinated operation at a local hotel. The SWAT Team, Narcotics Division and Crime Suppression Team executed two search warrants at approximately 2:45 p.m. at the Budgetel Inn and Suites at 954 5th Street. The warrants involved two separate rooms on the property. The Georgia Supreme Court denied the appeals of two men convicted in separate local killings. Deputies seized approximately 103.7 grams of fentanyl, 3.9 grams of crack cocaine, 35 oxycodone tablets and miscellaneous narcotics during the operation. They also recovered two firearms, including one confirmed stolen. James Berrian faces charges including an order to show cause, outstanding warrants for armed robbery and aggravated assault, robbery and other authority warrants. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team responded to two separate calls in less than three hours on Tuesday. All subjects were taken into custody and transported without incident.
