Election Supervisor Joseph Kirk spoke briefly about the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, also known as the SAVE Act, at the federal level and how it would change voting. The original version of the SAVE Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives in April 2025, but stalled in the Senate. A new version of the bill was introduced in January 2026 in the House by Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Lindsay Graham (R-South Carolina). It passed the
