Greg Goolsby was sworn in last month after running unopposed in a special election. He replaces former Mayor Eric Wilson, who resigned to run for a Georgia state Senate seat. Goolsby previously served 12 years on the Forsyth City Council before stepping into the top role. Now, with two years remaining on the term, Goolsby says he is focused on two major priorities — managing growth and shoring up the city’s aging infrastructure. “I don’t want it to be a budget cut or something negative,” Goolsby said. “This is a very positive thing.
