All early voting takes place at the Floyd County Election office at 18 E. 12th St. Early voting runs through Friday, Oct. 31, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4. All precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday , March 10, for the last chance to vote in the special election to fill the U.S. House District 14 seat in Northwest Georgia vacated by Marjorie Taylor Greene. There are 17 candidates vying to take more than 50% of the vote to win outright. Because it’s a special election, they’ll all appear on the same ballot, regardless of party. Republican candidates are Star Black, Regan Box, Beau Brown, Eric Cunningham, Clay Fuller, Tom Gray, Trey Kelly, Colton Moore, Brian Stover, Meg Strickland, James Tulley and Jenna Turnipseed. The Democratic candidates are Jim Davis, Shawn Harris and Jonathan Hobbs. Andrew Underwood is running as a Libertarian. Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski is an independent candidate. The district covers all of Floyd, Polk, Chattooga, Catoosa, Dade, Murray, Paulding, Walker and Whitfield counties and a slice of western Cobb County Turnout in Floyd County so far has fallen just short of 11%, with 7,544 of the 69,389 registered voters casting early ballots.
