Radford told a military court he did not intend to kill anyone but instead wanted to provoke military police into shooting him because he was suicidal. A Fort Stewart soldier accused of shooting five people on base last year changed his plea Tuesday, telling a military court he did not intend to kill anyone but instead wanted to provoke military police into shooting him because he was suicidal. Sgt. Quornelius S. Radford had previously indicated he would plead guilty to some charges, including two specifications of attempted premeditated murder. Prosecutors say Radford used a personal handgun on Aug. 6, 2025 to shoot members of his supply unit at Fort Stewart. Four soldiers and a civilian worker were injured. Prosecutors have described the civilian worker as Radford’s intimate partner, whom Radford said he shot in a parking lot
