HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Perry man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated stalking and burglary in a domestic violence case, according to the Houston County District Attorney’s Office . 44-year-old Jeremy Cox pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated stalking and one count of burglary in the first degree on April 6, 2026, just before a jury trial on his case was set to begin. Cox was sentenced on April 21, 2026, to a total sentence of 40 years, with the first 12 years to serve in prison, along with a permanent restraining order protecting the victim and the statutory requirement that he complete the Family Violence Intervention Program upon his release from custody. According to the DA’s office, the case involved numerous instances of domestic violence over a roughly eight-month period in Houston County in 2023. Cox and the victim, who have a biological child together, had previously been in a romantic relationship. Cox had been violent toward the victim during their relationship, which required law enforcement intervention.
