If those predictions hold, that would mark the first time in 16 years a majority of states are governed by Democrats. “The DGA has a proven record of winning in battleground and deep red states and we are going on offense this year to expand the number of Democratic governors,” Olivia Davis, a spokesperson for the Democratic Governors Association, told Newsweek on Friday. “From what we’re hearing on the ground to polling (and yes, even prediction markets), all signs point to a growing energy to flip more seats and win more governorships across the country.
