LOUISVILLE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A mom charged in the deaths of two of her sons is seeking a bond reduction. In March, Dakota Taylor was granted a $150,000 cash bond or $300,000 property bond by a Jefferson County judge. She’s charged with two counts each of malice murder, felony murder, and cruelty to children in the first degree in the death of her two sons, Caleb and Micah. According to court documents, Taylor has not been able to make and post the required bond to gain release. Thus, she has been, and remains, incarcerated in Jefferson County. Documents say Taylor will not leave the limits of Georgia while out on bond, attend court, and remain in the jurisdiction of the court. Documents also say Taylor has significant familial contacts within the community, poses no significant risk of fleeing, and poses no threat or danger to any person, the community, or property. Taylor’s attorney argues the initial bond amount set is not reasonable because the defendant has been continuously incarcerated since her arrest. We were told if she does bond out in Jefferson County, she’d be taken straight to the DeKalb County Jail to be held on that case, according to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.
