The County is partnering with the same consultant team currently supporting the City of Fayetteville’s planning efforts. Principal staff for the City of Fayetteville involved in this process are Julie Brown, Director of Planning & Zoning, and Marissa Jackson, Senior Planner. Although each jurisdiction will produce its own Comprehensive Plan, coordinated planning will help both groups identify appropriate land uses, shared community priorities and opportunities for complementary development. Each jurisdiction will form its own Steering Committee and Stakeholder Groups; however, a select number of individuals will serve jointly on both to support unified decision-making. The County and City will also host separate public meetings alongside a series of joint community engagement events. Fayette County will hold its initial public hearing on September 24, 2026, to brief residents on the planning process, outline opportunities for public involvement and receive early input from the community. The public hearing will be held before the Fayette County Board of Commissioners at 5 PM in the Fayette County…
