WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (WGXA) — The city of Warner Robins is proposing an increased property tax rate for 2026. In a press release, the mayor and city council announced their plan for a 12.74% increase over the rollback millage rate for Houston County residents and a 16.12% increase for Peach County residents. "Each year the board of tax assessors is required to review the assessed value for property tax purposes of taxable property in the county," the city explained. Adding that when the trend of prices on properties recently sold in the county indicates an increased market value, the board of tax assessors is required under Georgia law to reassess the property's value. The city of Warner Robins will hold three public hearings for citizens to voice their opinions and concerns about the property tax increase before the city can finalize the millage rate for its tentative budget. The hearings will be held at Warner Robins City Hall on September 14 at 12:00 p.m. and September 21 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Stick with WGXA as we learn more and keep you ready for what's next.
