Single-vehicle log truck crash causing traffic delays in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) —The Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) advised drivers of a traffic accident in the area of Smithville Road North and Georgia Highway 118 East. It was a single-vehicle log crash, and the driver was transported to a hospital with “what are believed to be minor injuries,” says LCSO. Traffic is currently restricted to one lane, and according to the LCSO, drivers should expect possible delays. “Please slow down, use caution when traveling through the area, and follow the directions of emergency personnel. We encourage drivers to use an alternate route if possible.” Georgia State Patrol is now investigating this incident. Have a news tip or see an error that needs correction? Let us know.
