Statesboro, Georgia Southern to host town halls seeking resident input on city’s growth

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) – The city of Statesboro and Georgia Southern University are seeking resident input on the challenges residents face as Statesboro continues to grow. Residents can take part in person at one of two town halls or online. Georgia Southern University has partnered with the city on a community-wide vulnerability assessment. The goal is to understand the challenges residents face as Statesboro continues to grow, and to use that information to support data-driven planning for the city’s future. Both the in-person and online options ask the same three questions: Residents can drop in anytime during the town halls. Light refreshments will be provided. Residents can take a five-minute survey anytime online. Dr. Helen Rosko of Georgia Southern University leads the project. She is a member of the city’s Greener Boro Commission. The project is funded through a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Georgia Sea Grant. Copyright 2026 WTOC. All rights reserved.
