2 found dead after missing Carroll County pair’s vehicle crashes into tree

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Two people who were reported missing were found dead after their vehicle crashed in Carroll County, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Troopers were called around 12:27 p.m. Tuesday to a single-vehicle crash on Oak Grove Road. Investigators said a 2013 Nissan Altima was traveling west when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The car went off the right side of the road before crossing back over the roadway, striking a tree on the passenger side and coming to rest in a deep ditch, according to the State Patrol. The driver, Emanuel Adams, 42, of Carrollton, and passenger Destiney Fields, 25, of Carroll County, died at the scene. Authorities said Adams and Fields were reported missing Aug. 1. Their family later found the crashed Nissan and alerted law enforcement. The date and time of the crash remain under investigation. Copyright 2026 WANF. All rights reserved.
