WAYNE COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – Two Jesup women were arrested for allegedly making false statements that a Wayne County deputy sexually assaulted them while on-duty, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). The GBI announced Monday the arrests of Trinity Bradley, 20, and Karlee Mooney, 18. They were charged with one count of felony false statements, one count of felony conspiracy to commit a crime of false statements and one count of misdemeanor false report of a crime. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to help investigate the case on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Initial information showed Bradley and Mooney agreed to each falsely report the deputy sexually assaulted them during ride-alongs, the GBI said. Both Bradley and Mooney allegedly made multiple false statements to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI. The deputy was placed on administrative leave by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office while the investigation was happening. On Monday, Nov. 2, Mooney was arrested, and Bradley turned herself in. Both were booked into the Wayne County Jail. The investigation is still active. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the GBI’s Regional Investigative Office Kingsland at (912) 729-6198.
