TIFTON — While they might not be fighting monsters or stopping supervillains, Tifton’s certainly not without its fair share of local heroes eager to do what they can to help save the day. Hoping to show off the spirited service of these community champions, propane supplier Conger LP Gas assembled a team of Friendly City heroes to take part in the second showing of their Hometown Heroes event, inviting local families and youths to visit their business July 23 and learn more about the efforts of the rescue workers, servicemen and women, and city supporters that work to protect, serve, and support the Tiftarea. Representatives of local fire, police, and public works departments, as well as agencies like Georgia Power, filled the area surrounding Conger’s Tifton branch, providing event patrons with insight into their efforts to improve and uplift the community and a showcase of the vehicles and equipment utilized in their day to day operations. Children and their families had the opportunity to peruse fire engines, patrol vehicles, farming and forestry equipment, and more. Alongside the meet and greet with their local heroes, visitors could beat the heat with a delicious shaved ice treat, play around in a bounce house, or try their luck at winning a variety of prizes in a raffle, including a kids’ sports set, toys, or a scooter. The festivities didn’t end at the door, either–kids could step inside the Conger office for a photo with Bluey and Bingo from kids cartoon “Bluey.”…
