Decatur County Sheriff’s Office sounds alarm on phony farming equipment scam

DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) – The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office is sounding the alarm on a new scam involving a bogus business targeting south Georgia farmers and others. If you Google the name Bradley Tractor and Equipment, the address takes you to a dirt road. The sheriff’s office says this business simply does not exist, even though it would appear that way online. Chief Investigator Vincent Edmond with DCSO said they found out about the scam and fraudulent business from another law enforcement agency in North Carolina where at least two people fell victim to buying tractors and farm equipment from Bradley Tractor and Equipment. The website appears to be legitimate, showing testimonial, a phone number and physical address. But the sheriff’s office says everything about this business is fake. As AI continues to grow, Edmond believes this could happen more often. “I think it surely will. If it worked one time, who’s to say it can’t work again. So, I believe these people will try it again,” Edmond said. “It can be made and it does look real and it can trick a lot of people.” Edmond reminds everyone before sending any money to do your due diligence and research the business.
