EASTMAN, Ga. — Hospitals in two Central Georgia counties will soon see new improvements, thanks to grants from Georgia’s Rural Center. The Rural Center, a branch of the Georgia Department of Agriculture focuses on healthcare access and economic development in rural places in Georgia. The Georgia Department of Agriculture announced on Tuesday that the program will award $400,000 in grants to three medical facilities in Georgia. Dodge County Hospital will use their grant to upgrade technology infrastructure, like Wi-Fi, and clinical equipment, according to the Georgia Department of Agriculture. They said that the clinical equipment would improve efficiency and enhance patient care delivery. Dorminy Medical Center in Ben Hill County received $126,000 for new ultrasound equipment to support and improve prenatal care for families. Evans Memorial Hospital in Evans County was the third county to receive a grant. They will use $125,000 to upgrade barcode medication scanning equipment in their emergency department, according to the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Georgia’s Rural Center began in 2018, and has invested more than $408 million in rural Georgia, according to the Georgia Depar
