GDOT Awards Contracts for Road Projects Across Four CSRA Counties

The Georgia Department of Transportation has handed out contracts for road work in Taliaferro, Emanuel, McDuffie, and Washington counties, per WRDW . The projects total more than $13 million. Work wraps up by March 2027. The largest contract will fix concrete on I-20 in parts of Taliaferro County and stretch into Greene County. The work is valued at $9.99 million. It begins near SR 15/Milepost 136 and stretches to SR 22/Exit 148. Crews plan to finish by January 31, 2027. A bridge on McGarrh Mill Pond Road over Daniel Mill Creek in Emanuel County will be replaced in a $1.65 million project. GDOT officials say the existing bridge was built in 1959 and has structural problems. The road will be closed during construction, and an off-site detour will be set up. The closure lasts about five months. Completion date is set for March 31, 2027. All Star Concrete, Inc. won an $858,000 contract to resurface about two miles of SR 12/US 278 in McDuffie County. Work begins near Ansley Road/Mt. Pleasant Road and stretches to the Thomson Bypass. Resurfacing will be completed by January 31, 2027.
