Man charged in missing Georgia woman murder wanted for 2025 alleged rape of teen in Ohio

Investigators say Loron Spaulding is accused of killing 30-year-old Diaja Benson , who was found dead in Cumming, Georgia, three weeks ago. Court documents out of Akron, Ohio, show Spaulding’s most recent case before the murder charge dates back to September. In that case, he is accused of rape, sexual battery, sexual conduct with a minor, and gross sexual imposition. According to those records, Spaulding allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a teenager—an offense classified as a third-degree felony in Ohio. He has an active warrant for his arrest in that case. His criminal history also includes earlier cases out of Akron. Records show Spaulding pleaded guilty to charges of domestic violence and carrying a concealed weapon in cases dating back to 2014.
