A Marion woman has been cited and charged in connection with a wildfire in McDowell County that has currently burned 185 acres, according to officials with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. Officials said Hilary Inman, 38, is charged in connection with the fire, which started as a result of improperly discarded smoking material. Officials said the Jumping Branch Fire is 20% contained at this time. A statewide burn ban has been in effect since Saturday evening.
