Cattle producers from across northwest Georgia will have an opportunity to expand their knowledge of herd management, nutrition, marketing and other areas of the cattle industry when the 2026 Northwest Georgia Master Cattlemen’s Program comes to Chattooga County this fall. The program is being hosted locally in collaboration with the UGA Beef Team and will consist of a series of Monday evening sessions beginning September 14 and continuing through November 2. Classes will begin at 6 p.m. at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center, 40 Middle School Road in Summerville. The eight-week program will feature specialists covering a wide range of topics important to cattle producers: Registration costs $100, which includes a notebook, hat and meals throughout the program. The deadline to register is September 8, and organizers encourage those interested to sign up early to reserve a spot.
