TERRELL COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — One person is dead after a three-vehicle crash in Terrell County, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP). GSP said the crash happened Monday, July 27, just before 8 p.m. on GA-50 (US-82) near GA-41. Note: The above location is approximate based on what GSP confirmed. Investigators identified the victim as 29-year-old Brenton Truitt, the son of well-known football coach Charles Truitt. Troopers said Truitt was driving eastbound when his vehicle crossed the center line into the westbound lanes and struck a second vehicle. That second vehicle left the road and came to rest in a ditch, according to GSP. Truitt’s vehicle then struck a third vehicle as it was moving onto the north shoulder. Troopers said Truitt was partially ejected and died at the scene. This is a developing story. Stay with WALB as we learn more. Have a news tip or see an error that needs correction? Let us know.
