Published 4:02 pm Wednesday, October 21, 2026 A search is underway for a Baldwin County fisherman near the railroad trestle at Haslam’s Marina on Lake Sinclair. Members of the Baldwin County Dive Team are searching for the fisherman, who is presumed drowned. Members of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division are using equipment to aid in the search. Personnel from the Putnam County Fire Department, Baldwin County Fire Rescue, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office are also assisting in the search. Baldwin County Public Safety Divers are actively conducting underwater search operations, while additional personnel are utilizing boats equipped with sonar technology to assist in locating the missing man. It is believed that the man may have drowned in Putnam County waters. The man went out at 2:30 a.m. today to fish but had not returned home at daylight. Family members grew concerned and called authorities. The man’s boat has been recovered from the water. Boaters in the area are urged to limit activity on the water, be on the lookout for the search effort and to call 911 if they see anything on the water during the search.
