Marjorie “Gayle” McCaffrey was last seen at her West Ashley home on March 18, 2012. Investigators said McCaffrey’s two children — a 4-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter at the time — last saw their mother the night of March 17, 2012, before they went to bed. McCaffrey’s husband, Robert McCaffrey, told investigators the couple had a verbal disagreement the evening of March 17 that became heated. He said he went for a walk to give his wife time to calm down, returned to find her still upset, then left the home and drove to the Upstate.
