Poll : Most oppose ICE detention center

A new public opinion poll commissioned by a citizens group shows a majority of Georgians oppose plans for a large ICE detention facility in Social Circle. The survey found that 52% of respondents disapproved of the proposed facility, compared with 26% who supported it, according to the group IndivisibleGA10. About 22% of respondents said they had no opinion. Opposition was even stronger among respondents who were already aware of the proposal. Nearly two-thirds, 64%, said they disapproved of the detention center, with many saying they strongly opposed it, the group said. The poll was conducted in late February using the Pollfish online research platform and included responses from 500 Georgia residents. The margin of error was 4.4%, according to the group. IndivisibleGA10, which commissioned the survey, is a citizens organization representing Georgia’s 10th Congressional District.
