The City of Summerville is seeking bids for a 2026 street resurfacing project that will cover portions of seven city streets totaling approximately 0.71 miles. According to the city’s Request for Bid, the project will include resurfacing portions of Given Street, Turner Street, Oak Street, West First Street, Hankins Drive, Second Street and Savannah Lane. The bid document lists each section as approximately 18 feet wide. The city is soliciting bids for the labor required to resurface the streets. The City of Summerville will provide the resurfacing material from Blount Construction. Contractors are being asked to provide pricing on a per-ton basis for asphalt, a per-gallon basis for tack and a total project cost. The project will be funded through the Georgia Department of Transportation Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant program, commonly known as LMIG. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Summerville City Hall, 120 Georgia Avenue. Bids will be opened at that time in the City Hall Council Room. The city says the paving work must be completed by December 31, 2026. The paving list contained in the city’s bid documents identifies the specific street segments expected to be included in the project. Some streets, including Hankins Drive, Second Street and Savannah Lane, are listed in the bid documents with the same street as both the beginning and ending point of the resurfacing section.
