Power crews from the Midwest were sent to the Bartow area to help with possible outages as a result of the weekend winter storm. After bracing for a winter storm over the weekend, Bartow County escaped with overall minimal impact. “Bartow County experienced a period of wintry weather late Saturday night into Sunday morning, primarily in the form of freezing rain,” said Josh Castleberry, deputy director for the Bartow County Emergency Management Agency. “Most of the precipitation occurred during the early morning hours, with the northeastern area of the county seeing the greatest impact. “Freezing rain accumulations were generally light, with most areas receiving a glaze to around 0.15 of an inch.
