Third suspect charged in Valentine Day deadly shooting at Birmingham gas station

A third person has been charged in the fatal shooting of a woman on Valentine’s Day at a Birmingham gas station. The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 14 in the 3100 block of 12th Avenue North, according to Birmingham police. Shaneka Hicks and a man were shot and both of them were taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Hicks, 20, died at UAB Hospital, according to the coroner. Police said the man was in critical condition. Aaron McGraw, 19, has been extradited back to Alabama after his arrest in Georgia on Feb. 18. Jonathan Hunter, 20, and Shandrea Battle, 20, both of Birmingham, were arrested on Feb. 17 at Interstate 59 North and the Ensley Avenue exit ramp. Jefferson County Jail Aaron McGraw, Jonathan Hunter and Shandrea Battle Court documents say the suspects shot from a vehicle into the vehicle Hicks and the other victim were in.
