‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect wanted in Harris County homicide

WAVERLY HALL, Ga. (WTVM) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a murder suspect following a shooting in Waverly Hall on Monday afternoon. Authorities have identified the suspect as 36-year-old Andrew Roy Harris of Phenix City. Harris is wanted for felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of 35-year-old Nicole Karastury Elliott. Investigators say Harris was last seen on foot in Phenix City after fleeing the America’s Best Value Inn near the U.S. Hwy. 280 bypass, and officials warn he is considered armed and dangerous. Deputies responded to a 911 call shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday regarding an unresponsive woman in the front yard of a residence at 9306 Georgia Highway 208. There, officers found Elliott dead from an apparent single gunshot wound. A joint investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation determined that Elliott was shot and killed during a domestic dispute with Harris. Anyone who spots Harris is warned not to approach him. If you have any information regarding his location, you’re urged to dial 911 or contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 706-628-4211.
