Officer Pradeep Tamang, 25, who joined the department less than a year ago, was wounded and later died at Northside Hospital, McClure said. Tamang was originally from Bhutan and moved to the United States about 10 years ago before joining the Gwinnett County Police Department last spring. He was engaged, and his family is traveling from Pennsylvania to Georgia, officials said. The second officer, identified as MPO David Reed, was shot multiple times and is in serious but stable condition, according to police.
